Praying to the occupant of the grave is major shirk. Praying the funeral prayer at the graveside is permissible. Praying the funeral prayer in the graveyard is permissible. Praying towards the graveyard is haram according to the correct opinion.

Included with the martyrs other than those who were martyred for the sake of Allah are those who die in vehicle rollovers and car crashes. They are likened to the one who is crushed beneath a falling wall, and there is the hope that they will have the status of martyrdom.

In Islam, if the martyr dies in the battlefield, he should not be washed or shrouded so that the traces of their martyrdom will be left on them as a testament to their martyrdom on the Day of Resurrection.
