The Du`a the Prophet taught us is a brief and concise Du`a that only takes a few minutes. This indicates that what is appropriate in Du`a Al-Qunut is to make it brief and to stick to concise phrases.

• The recording angels who write down the deeds of the son of Adam enter houses in which there are images. The angels who do not enter a house in which there are images are the angels of mercy. • The images which prevent the angels from entering a house are images of animate beings, apart from images that are dealt with in a disrespectful manner. • it is not permissible to pray in a place in which there is an image unless the Muslim is forced to pray in that place and is unable to remove the image.

Weeping during prayer is one of the outcomes of humble submission (khushu‘) in prayer. As for making oneself weep, there is a da‘if (weak) hadith that has been narrated concerning it; if it is sahih, what is meant is bringing sorrow into the heart and focusing, not making sounds by weeping artificially.

If someone is unable to sit in the Sunnah manner between the two prostrations or in the tashahhud, it is permissible for him to sit resting on his knees.

It was decreed that recitation in Dhuhr and `Asr should be done silently because the time of these prayers is during the day, and at that time a person's mind may be preoccupied with a lot of thoughts, as he is busy with his work or trade or manufacturing.

It is prescribed for a Muslim to initiate the greeting of Salam to his Muslim brother when he is praying, but the one who is praying should not return the Salams whilst praying, except by making a gesture in a manner that will maintain the validity of his prayer. It is also prescribed for the Muslim to initiate the greeting to one who is engaged in making Dhikr or Du`a.
