Prayer of a sick person who is not able to remove impurity

Question: 3495

A man is extremely sick and
cannot stand or sit, or remove impurity. Does he still have to pray?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.

He has to pray lying down, and make gestures to indicate the rukoo’ (bowing) and sujood (prostration). He should also keep away from impurity (najaasah) as much as he can.
