Marijuana is an intoxicating substance and what it is and what it causes is well-known and well-established, thus it is undoubtedly Khamr and is subject to the same rulings as Khamr in this world and the Hereafter.

There is nothing wrong with using morphine to relieve the patient’s pain, so long as no other painkiller is available. This is permissible because of necessity.

If the effect of alcohol in medicine and food is clear, it is haram to add it and it is haram to use these foods and medicines, whether they are eaten or drunk. If it has no effect when added to these foods and medicines, it is permissible to use them and eat or drink them.
