Abiding for eternity in Hell is of two types, eternal abiding which never ends, which is the abiding of the unbelievers in Hell. See the detailed answer for the other type of eternity in Hell.

With regard to the reason why women form the majority of Hell, the Prophet was asked about it and he explained the reason in these words: “Because of their ingratitude.” It was said, “Are they ungrateful to Allah?” He said, “They are ungrateful to their husbands and ungrateful about good treatment. If you are kind to one of them for a lifetime then she sees one (undesirable) thing in you, she will say, `I have never had anything good from you.’”
