His friend works in the airport and is going to get him a ticket for free – should he accept it?

One of my friends works in the airport and he promised that he would bring me a ticket for free at the airline’s expense, but I do not work there. Is it permissible for me to use this ticket or not? If he brings it to me, what should I do? Should I refuse it?.

Praise be to Allaah.

If your friend is going to obtain this ticket in a permissible manner, such as if it is given to him by the airline company without him telling lies, offering a bribe or playing any tricks, then there is nothing wrong with your accepting it from him.

But if he is going to obtain it by some haraam means, then you should not accept it; do not help him in doing something haraam.
