Holding Friday prayers in the airport

Is it permissible for airport employees to hold Friday prayers there if the distance between the airport and the city is approximately twenty kilometers, and the airport is located in the desert and is separated from other built up areas?

Praise be to Allaah.

There is no reason why you should not hold Friday prayers in the airport, so long as the employees are permanently based there and do not leave it in the summer or winter.
